报告摘要:
In the Future Consumer Applications and Services Research team we explore a number of TV related research topics, with the aim to deliver innovative and differentiated services to our BT customers. In TV delivery we are investigating how we can migrate to a more flexible content streaming architecture encompassing a flexible mix of unicast and multicast technologies. Building on this, we are also now investigating optimal solutions for converged video delivery across fixed and mobile access and for 5G networks. Our TV Analytics research area has developed significantly over the last few years, as we look to apply new data analytics tools and techniques to the breadth of TV, customer and network related data within our TV Platforms to develop new service capabilities and improve customer experience. With our Immersive & Interactive TV work we are investigating opportunities to enhance BT Sport content with new capabilities such as Virtual Reality live streaming and 360 video, building on earlier work on augmented reality and dual-screen content synchronization. Through a EU funded collaborative project we are also investigating new object-based-content multiscreen entertainment experiences.
The talk will focus on our recent Immersive & Interactive TV projects, to give an overview of these research areas and provide an opportunity to stimulate further discussion on topics of common interest.
